Think of buying a Chromebook or already own one? Consider this if you want to use Library eBooks.

Chromebooks do not run traditional operating systems like Windows or Apple iOS. Instead they use an operating system called Chromebook OS based on Linux.  What does this mean for users who want to read Library eBooks?
Well, you have to do things a bit differently. You can read eBooks from the Library's eMedia Catalog using OverDrive READ or installing the Chromebook App - Kindle Cloud Reader. Both ways allow you to download the book to the Chromebook to read offline.

However if you like to listen to eAudio books you are out of luck with a Chromebook. To learn how to read eBooks from the Library's eMedia Catalog please read the Chromebooks article in OverDrive Help.
