Good Good Pig - Pigs, pigs everywhere!

Good Good Pig CoverIt seems as if we find pigs in literature at almost every turning.

Probably the most famous pig book is Charlotte's Web by E.B. White. That is a prime example of a book where a pig is kept as mostly a pet. I think Wilbur is who comes to mind when we think of pigs, and Wilbur is eternally fairly small, clean, and cute.

Arnold the Pig, from the TV show Green Acres, introduced us to pigs who were smarter than their owners.

And Babe, from the movie by the same name, introduced us to pigs who where clever and inventive and also eternally cute.

Pigs are also rampent in children's literature: The Three Little Pigs, The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, the Olivia stories, If you Give a Pig..., and Piglet, from the Winnie the Pooh stories.

Here are some pig resources the library has.

What were your favorite pig stories growing up? Have you ever known or met a real pig?
