In July we'll be reading Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper.
Jodi Picoult writes on a lovely variety of fairly controversial topics. This book is no different. I think we're all familiar with the concept of parents conceiving a second child to provide donar tissue to a disabled older child? The parents in this book did just that. However, what happens when the child says "I don't want to give my sister that body part."
Just to give you fair warning, this one's a tear-jerker. It's also a fairly fast read, so we'll have lots of time to talk about Stem Cells, and Cloning, and Medical and Parental Ethics.
Be sure to request a copy soon. It's a popular read right now, and there's a short waiting list.
